Upon arrival we were greeted by the captain and crew. The captain informed us rain was in the forecast and asked if we would still like to take the trip. Sure we wanted to go. A little rain wouldn’t hurt anything. Once we got to the spot to drop the shrimp net the rain started and only proceeded to get worse. After we brought the net in (we got shrimp, crabs and fish) the captain made the decision to go back because the rain was not going to let up.  He apologized profusely, but it wasn’t his fault. He didn’t ask for the rain. Once we returned he prepared our fish for cooking and provided a place for us to go to steam the shrimp. A+ captain and crew. We definitely return to Silver Charters again.

We did the realllllly early morning charter. Captain John & mate Rowdy were prepared for us and made everything so easy. Both were great in imparting their knowledge on the local area, historics and everything fishing! Only two of us & they caught us a few bluefish, plus at least 3 dozen good size male crabs! (I tossed the females back in cuz I’m picky). That was perfect for us. Highly recommend this charter and we’ll be back! Would love to come back when shrimp are in season.  Thanks, guys!

We had an amazing time with Captain John Silver! He knew exactly where to take to find the big fish! He asked us what we were looking for in terms of fish, considered that everyone wanted something different. One wanted to fish for dinner, one for crabs (teenager) bc it’s so hands on and myself, I wanted “big fish” and we got ‘em! His 1st mate was amazing too! He really knew what he as doing. As soon as anything broke, he pulled out another pole that was all ready to go! When the Captain was busy, his 1st mate took over. They worked very well together and were very easy to get along with. Don’t forget to bring your own food and beverages!! If I could suggest anything to improve the experience, a cooler with a dozen (or so) assorted beverages, especially if it’s a small group. On a scale of 5 star’s, they get a FIVE plus one for each fish we caught!

Captain John and First Mate Dalin were great to take a 4 hour trip with.  The boat was clean and well equipped.  It was our groups first time shrimping and crabbing and we really enjoyed the experience.  The crew was great with the kids (ages 9 and 7) and let them pull in the crab pots. We caught more crab and shrimp than we could eat!  It was a great experience for all involved and would highly recommend.

Capt John and his first mate, Rowdy, were great. We brought a family of 5 with young children who never have been on a boat or went crabbing. They were incredibly patient and answered all of their questions. They included the kids in all aspects of catching the crabs. We ended up with 2 full baskets of blue crabs and the kids were pooped by the end and took a peaceful nap on the boat ride back to the dock.  10/10
