Stefan has everything you could want in a professional fishing guide. That goes for any angler, noob to pro. His experience, guidance and flawless equipment gave us a day that I will never forget!

The story:
I’d never fished in Sweden despite visiting friends and family here for over 7 years. I love catching coarse predator species, so perch and pike were the names on my Swedish ‘most wanted’ list. On the boat, Stefan briefed us on the essentials before we began and polished our techniques as we were casting and drilling our wily prey. I managed to land the most perch during the morning session, but was the only guest not to have bagged a pike as we cruised into the final location before lunch.

Then it struck! I felt a heavy pull on my line, totally unlike the feisty, head-shaking take of a perch. It allowed me to slowly bring it to the surface, when we saw that this was the pike of the day by far, if I could land it. Then it took off like a locomotive into the depths, stripping an impressive amount of line off my reel. After a good tussle, Stefan netted it and we had it on the boat. I stood in a dream-like state as he carefully unhooked and lifted my prize with me for the photo. It was a glorious beast measuring 93cm and weighing about 5.1kg! Then Stefan gently lowered it into the water and it swam off with a casual flick of its tail - awesome!

Would I book him again? In a New York minute!

It was so much fun for the family.  He picks nice fishing locations with beautiful sceneries.  We are beginners, but caught a decent amount of fish during the half day trip!  Captain Stefan is very good and kind in teaching fishing techniques for beginners and even for very young children. Children really loved it!
