- Background
- Being born and raised near the great waters of Cocoa Beach, I have always had a burning passion for fishing and spending my time on the water. I started at a young age riding bikes around my local neighborhoods in search of catching that prized fish. This search became a fascination for me that only grew bigger and bigger as I aged. Most of my fishing experience has been in the Indian River Lagoon and in the Banana River, as well as fishing offshore out of Port Canaveral for pelagic species. Spending so much time on these waters has taught me how to pickup on patterns and really understand how to target trophy fish such as Snook, Tarpon, Redfish, and Trout. I have spent years learning how to fish these local waterways and it has been a dream of mine to pass this knowledge along to the next generation of young anglers.
- Techniques
- When fishing inshore in my area, my favorite way to target the game fish the Space Coast area has to offer is to focus on fishing structures. I like to pitch artificial and live baits to docks, mangroves, and rocks. This has proven to be an affective method for finding quality fish in any water conditions. By this I mean that no matter how murky, or choppy the water may be, you can almost always count on certain structures holding fish. This style of fishing also has a certain level of excitement of the unknown, as you never know if a big snook, redfish, or trout may come exploding out of a particular mangrove or dock.
