I had booked a 7 hour trip with Captain Matt and everything went smooth.  I met him at the boat launch at 5:00 AM and shortly after that we were headed out to catch some walleye.  After about a 20 minute boat ride, we started to get the lines in the water. It wasn’t long before we had the first fish in the boat. Two hours later we were limited out.  Captain Matt kept me entertained the whole time with stories about his previous life as a restaurateur, his trips to Alaska to fish for salmon and halibut, and his experience as a hunting guide in South Dakota. Even without the success fishing it would’ve been an enjoyable day.  I was lucky enought to pick a perfect weather day, too. It was a great day, and I’ll probably look up Captain Matt when I come back here next year.

My husband and I had the best day ever fishing with Captain Matt.  Matt was a great host, a veteran fisherman of Lake Erie, and knew just where to go.  Matt had everything we needed for a great day of fishing.  We caught our limit of walleye for the day a little early, and then did some sightseeing around the Bay.  Matt cleaned our fish for us and provided wonderful service as our fishing guide.  This fishing trip was amazing! I actually got a blister on my hand from reeling in all of our fish!  I highly recommend Dog’s Life Sport Fishing.  Thank you, Captain Matt!  We hope to fish with you again soon!

We booked two days with Dog’s Life Sport Fishing and on both days we met our limit. On day two, as the waves were becoming too much, the other captains were telling their groups they had to reschedule. Thankfully, Matt waited out the waves and let us know when it was clear to go, as this was a 12 hour trip for us from home and we would’ve hated to get turned away first thing that morning. Can’t wait to book our next trip!

This was an outstanding fishing trip!  Captain Matt was great!  We got a bit of a late start which was at my request, but we still hit our limit with a party of 4 by 10:30 am. We went out for lunch while Captain Matt cleaned and filleted our catch.  It was the first time we went out fishing with Dog’s life and plan to go again as soon as we can!  Thanks to Captain Matt for a wonderful day of fishing!

Cpt Matt was great,! We enjoyed our fishing trip, we did not make our limit, caught 4 walleye, but considering that there was 30 mile gusts of wind the day before. He kept us informed of lake conditions the night before and early the next day the lake started calming down.  He even gave us the option of not going or waiting until later in the day. We chose to wait and our 8 am trip went 2 pm. It was a great experience. He really worked to get us fish but the Lake Spirits where not in our favor.  He filleted our fish and brought them to our campsite ( it was next to the marina) Matt was amazing, if we had to do it again or come out this way we would choose him. LOT’S of experience.
