Capt. McCoy took my boys and me on our first charter ever. Recommended by my boss who went out with him a month ago.
Super hot day with 11:00 am start.  Went out hit a couple sharks.  Then into a channel a hooked a nice Red.
Went back out into deeper water,  Capt. Set some rods, cut up a few bait fish,  released them into the current.  A few minutes later, Boom!  Tarpon On!  I swear Capt McCoy was just as excited as I was watching my son battle for 30+ minutes,  coaching him, (like he did all of us on our catches) 
Awesome to watch and be a part of. I’m not a big fisherman,  so shared with friends to realize how truly special it is to hook one much less get it to the boat!

We joined Captain Donovan today for a 3 hour inshore fishing trip.  We quickly moved on from the first spot after no bites and found a good spot for bonnethead sharks. We caught 4 of them and then moved on in search of redfish. We netted some shrimp and other bait and headed to our next spot. Captain Donovan managed to find us 2 redfish with a third spitting the hook before we could get the rod out of the holder.  Catching a redfish was my entire goal of the trip.  Captain Donovan was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to while we waited for a bite.  He took the time to answer our questions and to explain what he was seeing while we were fishing.  If we are ever back on the island I would not hesitate to book another trip with Reel McCoy Charters!

We aimed to catch sharks and successfully caught three during our 7 AM trip. The weather was perfect. Captain McCoy is fantastic and very easy on the eyes. He knows his stuff and engages with everyone on the boat, which I haven’t experienced with other captains. We will definitely book with him every year when we visit.

Thank you Captain Donovan for a fun 3 hour inshore fishing trip.  This was our first experience with inshore fishing and we were not disappointed.

Our first stop was in the shallow waters where we immediately caught sea trout using shrimp for bait.  We caught 4 big ones to cook for our dinner that night as well as smaller ones we released.  I caught a 10 pound red fish.That was exciting. He got to live another day since the big ones are not good for eating. 

Our next stop was further out into deeper water (still inshore).  We had some nibbles but no bites.  Our last stop was closer to the shore where we caught some small pin fish and released them.

Donovan was very patient with us in showing us how to cast and baiting our hooks.  He was knowledgeable about the fish and area. The boat was a perfect size for the 3 of us (all adults) and it was clean.

Our Grandfather came down for a visit and he is an avid fisherman. The kids refer to him as Grandpa Fish! Donovan was an amazing captain,  his boat was pristine and we caught a lot of fish! Most of what we caught were too big to keep. Donovan tried his best to ensure Grandpa Fish caught one but all the luck came to us! Beautiful scenery and the captain knew where to go to catch some fish. I would 10/10 recommend booking a trip!
