In 2016 I dropped out of college to pursue my dream of being a professional fishing guide. After hundreds of days and thousands of hours on the water, I was able to attain my captains license in 2021 and have been guiding full time ever since.

Our boat is a 22’ sea hunt that fits up to 4 anglers at any one time. (Total weight of 4 passengers not to exceed 850 lbs). The boat is equipped with a GPS trolling motor, T Top for shade, storage, bluetooth radio, live wells, and many other features. The boat is powered by a 200 yamaha

All rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. No need to worry about fishing licenses, as they will be covered and handled by the charter.

Note ** Red Drum are catch and release only for all trips booked AFTER 6/22/25. Redfish are our primary inshore target and the population is on an alarming decline over the last few years. It’s important for our future to take care of them now before it’s too late. You’re welcome to keep other legal fish if you’d like and I can clean them for you at the dock. Please don’t come expecting to fill the freezer, we don’t have that kind of inshore fishery here!

Feel free to bring your own drinks or snacks in a small cooler. We offer a kid-friendly experience, so you're welcome to bring the whole family out for a fun fishing adventure.

100 lb. Tarpon!!!

3 Hour Inshore - 11 AM on June 25, 2025 • 4 adults

Capt. McCoy took my boys and me on our first charter ever. Recommended by my boss who went out with him a month ago. Super hot day with 11:00 am start. Went out hit a couple sharks. Then into a channel a hooked a nice Red. Went back out into deeper water, Capt. Set some rods, cut up a few bait fish, released them into the current. A few minutes later, Boom! Tarpon On! I swear Capt McCoy was just as excited as I was watching my son battle for 30+ minutes, coaching him, (like he did all of us on our catches) Awesome to watch and be a part of. I'm not a big fisherman, so shared with friends to realize how truly special it is to hook one much less get it to the boat! First timers don't hesitate on Reel McCoy Charters!!!

Had a great trip out!

3 Hour Inshore - 2 PM on May 30, 2025 • 4 adults

We joined Captain Donovan today for a 3 hour inshore fishing trip. We quickly moved on from the first spot after no bites and found a good spot for bonnethead sharks. We caught 4 of them and then moved on in search of redfish. We netted some shrimp and other bait and headed to our next spot. Captain Donovan managed to find us 2 redfish with a third spitting the hook before we could get the rod out of the holder. Catching a redfish was my entire goal of the trip. Captain Donovan was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to while we waited for a bite. He took the time to answer our questions and to explain what he was seeing while we were fishing. If we are ever back on the island I would not hesitate to book another trip with Reel McCoy Charters!

Amazing Trip… Regardless of Weather

6 Hour (Full Day) Inshore/Nearshore on September 8, 2025 • 3 adults

Despite not having the most ideal weather (pretty windy conditions and big tides due to full moon), Capt. Donovan produced an amazing fishing trip. The fishing started off a little slow but he quickly changed baits which produced results. We caught a variety of species and numerous fish. Capt. Donovan was easy to talk to and provided a great experience for my father and myself. Would 100% recommend to anyone!

What a lovely day in the Beautiful water! We caught sharks which was incredibly exciting. Of course we let them go :)! But sure was fun! The boat was really nice and equipped with all you need for safety and sport. The captain had super good vibes and his skills showed. We can’t wait to book again!!!

Tarpon was our first catch!

4 Hour Inshore on August 21, 2025 • 4 adults

Family trip- two had been in a charter fishing trip and two had not. All four of us had a blast and can’t wait to go again. First catch after bait was a huge tarpon. Each of us caught a shark. Gorgeous day and we thought Cap. McCoy was the best. Kind, knowledgeable and eager to share his passion for fishing.
