In 2016 I dropped out of college to pursue my dream of being a professional fishing guide. After hundreds of days and thousands of hours on the water, I was able to attain my captains license in 2021 and have been guiding full time ever since.
Our boat is a 22' sea hunt that fits up to 4 anglers at any one time. (Total weight of 4 passengers not to exceed 850 lbs). The boat is equipped with a GPS trolling motor, T Top for shade, storage, bluetooth radio, live wells, and many other features. The boat is powered by a 200 yamaha
All rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. No need to worry about fishing licenses, as they will be covered and handled by the charter.
Note ** Red Drum are catch and release only for all trips booked AFTER 6/22/25. Redfish are our primary inshore target and the population is on an alarming decline over the last few years. It's important for our future to take care of them now before it's too late. You're welcome to keep other legal fish if you'd like and I can clean them for you at the dock. Please don't come expecting to fill the freezer, we don't have that kind of inshore fishery here!
Feel free to bring your own drinks or snacks in a small cooler. We offer a kid-friendly experience, so you're welcome to bring the whole family out for a fun fishing adventure.

Captain Donovan was upright professional and on the fish but what made this trip special was it was my 5 yo sons first boat and fishing trip. Captain Donovan stayed engaged with my son and kept him entertained and on the fish! A 3 hour trip was just the right amount of time for both of us. Captain filleted the fish and we had some tasty varied fish tacos that night would highly recommend. Thank you Kindy Capt’
We had a great time out on the boat for a couple hours. Caught some sharks and a sting ray. Our boys, 12 and 6, had so much fun. There’s no pressure to do anything more than you want to do with the actual fishing. I’m sure if we had asked we could have been more involved, but we really just wanted our kids to be exposed to something new and learn about fishing. We learned a lot and it’s approachable for anyone to go out. We will do it again if we make it back to Hilton Head in the future!
Had an amazing trip out with the Captain. He put us on big drum, slot drum and slot trout and a couple sharks. Ive been booking fishing charters for the last 5 year and by far the BEST Captain and experience we’ve had yet! If your looking for a inshore trip then Captain McCoy is your guy!!!
This was a first trip for a mom and 12yo son. Captain Donovan met us at our skill level which made us very comfortable. We caught an array of things, whiting, shark, stingrays, and redfish. Captain taught us a little about each catch and he shared a lot of knowledge with us on local regulations, best practices, and conservation efforts. We really enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot.
Captain McCoy was great, we were able to fish multiple areas without much down time. We got into a good haul of various species including Redfish, Black Drum and Sheepshead. By far the most efficient and productive fishing outing we’ve had in the area. Highly recommend Captain McCoy and we will be back to him again next time.

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.

When the captain confirms your trip, FishingBooker charges your credit card a 20% deposit to guarantee your reservation.
The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:
