Member since July 2022 Little River, United States
Background
I come from a commercial fishing family and I started commercial fishing at the age of 10. By high school my brother and I were fishing 600 lobster traps out of South Portland, Maine. I graduated from university in 1996 with a BS in Physical Education then sold the lobster business to pursue teaching. After two long years in the teaching profession I moved to Horry County to pursue South Atlantic salt life. I obtained my USCG captains license in 2000 and started offering fishing trips in 2001 from Murrells Inlet, SC. Moved the business to Little River Inlet in 2006 and have been enjoying it ever since. Along with providing one of the best fishing adventures in this area, I am also a firefighter / EMT. It is my hope to share my life of experience on the Atlantic Ocean with you.
Techniques
I prefer fishing live bait (shrimp, mullet, pogies). When live bait is not available I like using Gulp Baits. We mostly bump the bottom with Carolina rigs or use float rigs near structure with light tackle. I keep heavier tackle on the boat just in case someone would like to tackle a larger shark.
