My wife and I went to Puerto Rico for an anniversary trip. Being both avid fisherman and pretty experienced we were looking for a specific type of trip. Not just a take the boat out and drop bait on the bottom. We contacted Captain Antonio and from the get go he was extremely helpful planning every part of our experience with him. The day was amazing. Fly fishing the flats for bonefish/permit was definitely a bucket list type of trip for us. He led us to fish right away and gave us many opportunities to hook up. The fish weren’t cooperating but that was more than likely inexperience on our end. After fishing the flats we went in search for tarpon. Once again Captain Antonio led us right to the fish and just couldn’t get one to the boat. The fishing gods can be cruel sometimes. Although the day ended after a few more spots later looking for some more bonefish, our captain was always searching for a chance throughout the trip to get us hooked up. He’s passionate about what he does and it shows. More experienced anglers with this type of fishing might have capitalized on the many chances we had but that just means we’ll have to go back and try again. Captain Antonio will be our first call.
