    Captain Alex is great!

    3/4 day shark trip2 adults1 child

Took my seven year old son with Captain Alex. Caught Jacks, sharks, snook and a couple of snapper. He cleaned up the snapper and recommended a restaurant to cook them up. Rounding out a great day for Father and Son on the water!

Half day trip with Captain Alex

    Half day shark trip3 adults

Had a great trip this morning with Captain Alex. Was communicative and made sure we found the boat easily. The trip itself couldn’t have gone any better. We were on the fish right from the start. Caught a bunch of large snapper, yellow jacks, barracuda, etc. We also had a close encounter with a shark when it came and snatched one of the fish we were reeling in which was very cool. Alex is also very personable and was great to spend time with out on the boat, especially with us very casual fishers. Highly recommend Alex if you are looking for a trip in the Miami area!

    Mutton Snapper for Everyone

    Half day shark trip3 adults

My wife, teenage daughter and I had a great morning out with Captain Alex, who is as affable and knowledgeable as they come. He took us to multiple spots, including one where we reeled in several beautiful mutton snappers (thanks to his useful and friendly fishing tips), regaled us with interesting anecdotes about the area, and made sure we were all having fun. We’re definitely booking another morning with him next time we are in town.

    Great day on the water

    Half day shark trip2 adults

We had a tremendous experience with Captain Alex. He’s a very knowledgeable seafarer and we had a blast with him. We caught lots of fish of different species: grouper, snapper, mackerel, grunt and lost a few hooked sharks. Highly recommended !

Great time to be fishing in Miami

Nov 29, 2016 • Key Biscayne
This time of the year the fishing and weather are at there best and lately it has not disappointed. The weather has been almost perfect for this time of the year and we are not even breaking a sweat while we are out on the water. The best bite has been during the day in Biscayne Bay. The bait is still around and plentiful and we are having no problem finding it and then filling the livewell with more then we need. Lately the snappers have been the stars of the show and have not disappointed. We have been catching some really nice Mangrove snapper up to 5lbs and on light tackle they are a blast. We have also been catching out fair share of Mutton snappers but most have been just a little to small to keep but we have caught some big ones as well. If you are looking for non stop action from some toothy critters the Barracudas are making there move into the bay and we have had some exciting action from them. In my opinion the Barracuda is the most understated game fish that we have, they are aggressive, pull drag, have teeth, and are a blast to catch. In my opinion you couldn't ask for anything more from a fish. The Yellowjacks have also been around lately and when you can get them fired up they are like a pack of piranhas eating everything that swims and it is a lot of fun to watch them chase down and eat your bait off the surface of the water. If Tarpon is something you are looking to target then the wait is almost over. Any time now the shrimp should start running at night and the Tarpon will not be far behind. It is primarily a night time bite this time of the year and you get to see the glitz and glam of Miami from the water at night while doing battle with the mighty silver king. What else could you ask for. The fishing is good so don't miss out and BOOK YOUR TRIP TODAY!!!!

Great time to fish Miami

Nov 11, 2016 • Key Biscayne
Like I have said in my previous posts, this is my favorite time of the year to fish and so far it has not disappointed. The bait has finally settled into its usual routine and we are finding it with ease just about every time we go out. It's so thick that with one throw of the 12ft cast net we are catching more bait then we could ever want. The hot bite continues to come from the snapper, grouper, jacks, and barracudas. On our past trips we have been catching some good sized mutton snapper and mangrove snapper which are one of the best eating in my opinion. When we can get them out of the structure with the light tackle that we are using we have landed some nice groupers and lost some nice groupers, but that's fishing. At night the snook are still hanging around in good numbers and the tarpon are making there second appearance for the year and when the tide is right they are eating everything in sight. Miami is a great place to be this time of the year so if you have t experienced it before get down here and book a trip so you don't miss out on the action. Don't wait BOOK YOUR TRIP TODAY!!!!!

October fishing in Miami

Oct 14, 2016 • Key Biscayne
Like I mentioned in my last report, October is one of the best months out of the year to be fishing and so far it has not disappointed. The mullet run is in full swing now and the fishing couldn't be better. During the day we are catching Mutton snapper from 5-15 lbs, Mangrove snapper up to 20 inches, Yellow jacks up to 12lbs, and some big hungry Barracudas. All my fishing is done on light tackle, 15lb braided line with 20-30lb fluorocarbon leader, which makes for a great fight with these fish. If you like constant rod bending action and drag screaming fun this is the trip for you. If Snook is what you are after they are biting eat good at night around the inlets and bridges around Miami Beach, and there are some big ones lurking around right now. Don't miss out on the fun and BOOK YOUR TRIP TODAY!!!!! Capt. Alex Geneteau

Fun fishing in Biscayne Bay

Oct 4, 2016 • Key Biscayne
Well I have been talking about it in the past few reports and it has finally happened. The bait has made its return to the bay and the fishing is Red Hot!!! We are having no problem filling the 40 gallon live well with plenty of bait and then finding fish to feed them to. The Mutton snapper bite is picking up and should only get better as we get further into October. We have been catching plenty of fish in the 8-10lb range and on light tackle they are a ton of fun to catch. The Mangrove snapper bite has also been very good as well and we are catching some nice fish in the 15-20 inch range. The other stars of the show have been the Yellow jacks that come through in swarms eating anything in their path. They have been in the 5-12lb range and on light tackle they provide plenty of drag screaming action. October is one of the best months of the year to fish so don't miss out on the fun and BOOK YOUR TRIP TODAY!!!!! Capt. Alex Geneteau

Spring Fishing in Miami

Mar 5, 2016 • Key Biscayne
Like I have been saying in my last few reports, spring is upon us and the fishing has been steady. When the winds allow it we are still able to get to the snapper and they have been biting good. The mangrove snapper bite has been the best bite with fish being caught anywhere from 2 to 8lbs. The mutton snapper bite is starting to pick up as well and we are starting to catch more keepers then shorts. The past few months we have caught over 100 hundred short mutton snappers, which is a good sign that the population is healthy. We have also been catching some nice sized grouoper but unfortunately we can't keep them until May 1. The tarpon and snook bites is also getting better and better as we get closer to summer. At night we are still catching tarpon anywhere from 30 to 100lbs, the best part about tarpon fishing is you never know what you have till it jumps out of the water and you get to see exactly how big the fish really is. We are also catching some snook at night as well. Most have been just under slot around 27 1/2 inches but we are also catching some keepers mixed in as well. Take advantage of the good weather and fishing and BOOK YOUR TRIP TODAY!!!!!

Don't let the Cold Scare You!!!!

Feb 9, 2016 • Key Biscayne
Well it has been a little chilly here in Miami lately but that has not stopped us from getting out in the water and catching some fish. We are still having no problem catching our share of porgies and snappers each time we go out and putting a few in the cooler for dinner as well. The tarpon bite is starting to pick up and when the tide is right we have had no problem hooking up and doing battle with them. Early morning or in the evening has been the best bite but we have also been catching them during the day as well. If you have never caught a tarpon before it is deffinetly something you need to experience. There's nothing like hooking into a 50 to 100lb fish and watching it jump out of the water and try to rip your arms off as you hang onto the rod trying to stop him. Deffinetly something you need to see to believe. While we are fishing for tarpon we have also been catching some nice sized barracudas, some big jacks, snook, and some sharks as well. With spring not to far away the fishing should only get better and better till summer hits us. So take advantage of the good fishing and weather and BOOK YOUR TRIP TODAY!!!!
