Techniques: I prefer trolling and bottom fishing all of the inshore/nearshore reefs, wrecks and especially live bottom areas while sight casting for larger gamefish. I also enjoy fishing around the jetties and inside the creeks for flounder, trout, sheepshead, red and black drum.

Went to Belkie Bear and couldn’t hardly get more than two lines in the water before we were hooked up over and over with Kings.

Brandon and Ryan caught Kings on a nearshore reef in the morning and Redfish in the afternoon doubling up on overslot and slot one after another for 3hrs straight!

This was a good day of fishing from 7am-11am after we finally got going. Our trip should have started promptly at 7am but we sat on dock for 25mins as captain prepared boat for our day. Then we did not know that we would be wasting our fishing time as we caught bait for the day. Jody thank you for the review. As far as us leaving promptly at 7am we did. My trips always leave on time even if it is a few minutes before or after, those minutes are added to the back end of the trip which we didn’t get back to the dock till 11:20. As far as bait is concerned, I took y’all on a nearshore trip for the price of an inshore so on our way to the spot we looked for the bait we needed for the trip. This bait can’t be caught before the sun comes up and every other captain in the area does the same thing. We were fishing for reds at the end of the north jetty but got hooked into a monster bull shark and it was at the end of the trip. That’s out of my control. I felt like our best shot was right there being I caught reds there the day before. Can’t tell a certain species not to bite a hook. Thanks for the opportunity and tight lines!

This was a phenomenal trip! Captain Perrin taught us everything we needed to know and even though all the odds were against us catching fish, he gave 100% to get us where we needed to be to catch some and to help us do it. Would definitely do this again in the future!

I would definitely recommend a trip with Captain Wood. The fishing was tough on the day we went out, as it can be sometimes. However, the Captain worked extremely hard to put us on some fish and we were impressed with his knowledge and professionalism.
