My family and I had an incredible time with Captain Jake, culminating in the catch of a ~9 foot bull shark! My two boys(8, 10), both caught fish. Everyone was given the opportunity to catch fish and did. Captain provided snacks, and made sure everyone was happy and having fun. It was a hot day so he provided us an opportunity to stop and cool off with a jump in the ocean also. If we’re back in the Keys we’ll absolutely take a trip with Jake again.

We had the most amazing day out on the water on our family fishing trip—three generations onboard, including grandparent, parents, and our two little adventurers (ages 9 and 7). From the moment we hopped on the boat, the vibe was relaxed, friendly, and fun. Jake was an absolute legend—super knowledgeable, great with the kids, and clearly loves what he does.
The highlight of the day? We caught a hammerhead shark! The kids were over the moon, and honestly, so were the adults. Jake handled the catch expertly, ensuring it was done safely and respectfully, while giving us all a thrilling story to tell. The boat was comfy, clean, and had everything we needed including cold drinks and refreshments. There was plenty of shade for us to chill, and space for the kids to move around without getting in trouble. Jake kept things light and fun, cracking jokes and sharing cool stories about the sea and the local wildlife and was incredibly patient with the kids as they learned to cast and reel.
If you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly fishing experience, this charter is a winner. 10/10 would recommend.  We’ll definitely be back!

We had the BEST day! As a family of 5 with three kids (ages 15, 12, & 9 — two girls and a boy), this was our very first time deep sea fishing, so we chose a nearshore trip with Captain Jake , and it did not disappoint.

The ride out was quick and Jake quickly had us on fish. The kids were loving it, even our daughters who weren’t sure what to expect. The energy, excitement, and smiles were nonstop! Then came the moment we’ll never forget , our 12-year-old son hooked into a monster bull shark and spent nearly two hours reeling it in (with a few well-earned breaks and some help along the way).

Captain Jake was amazing with the kids, patient, fun, and clearly passionate about what he does. He even made a stop at a sandbar so we could take a dip and cool off before heading back in , a perfect way to wrap up the morning.

Highly, highly recommend booking with Jake if you’re looking for a family-friendly, memorable fishing experience. He made our first trip one we’ll never forget!

We had an amazing time on our fishing trip with Captain Jake! From start to finish, he was joking right along and just having so much fun. My daughter got sea sick and he was doing all that he could to help make her more comfortable. He was VERY knowledgeable and helpful while fishing. We were on the fish in no time and he packed good snacks to share with us. The scenery was beautiful, the weather was perfect, after fishing we got to swim at a sand bar and when we got back to the dock, he cleaned our fish and sent us to the best restaurant to cook our catch. It was such a wonderful time. Thank you for the memories, Jake! I can’t recommend this trip enough—We will definitely be booking with you again the next time we’re down this way.

We went to the dock and jointly agreed the weather was to rough to go out. Captain Mike was willing and fully ready to launch, but very honest about the conditions. He fully refunded us without hesitation. The boat looked great, the captain was extremely nice & more concerned about us then about taking our money. It killed us not to go out with him that day. I will absolutely book Captain Mike next time I am in the Keys.
