  Customer Service was excellent, but fish wouldn’t bite

  3/4 Day trip (PM) on May 27, 2026 • 2 adults

  Upon arrival I spoke with Martin who was as nice as can be. He appeared knowledgeable and was extremely pleasant. We were paired with Mauricio for our trip and we were off to the races. The Hell’s Bay boat handled the windy chop with ease, and we were able to get to our first fishing spot quickly. Despite our best effort, and my repeated snagging of the mangroves, I was unable to catch any Tarpon or Snook. Regardless of the catching, Mauricio was extremely experienced, pleasant and eager to assist. Additionally, I have no doubt that Mauricio could cast a plastic bait into a 12” circle at 40 yards with his eyes closed. The man can see fish from miles away, and just gets it. Despite my misfortune with the fish, the ride through the beautiful lagoon, and the information learned from Mauricio was a pleasure. If you’re thinking of booking with Cancun Light Tackle, absolutely do it.

  Great Couple Days on the Water

  Full Day Trip (Nov-Apr) on April 27, 2026 • 2 adults

  I had an outstanding experience fishing with Mauricio over two consecutive days. On the first day, I spent the entire time fly fishing solo, and he consistently put me on fish from start to finish. I even landed a large jack, which was on my bucket list. The second day, I brought a friend along and we switched it up to bait casting with live bait. Once again, Mauricio delivered an incredible day, and I was able to land a tripletail. The conditions were definitely technical in the mangroves, but his knowledge, instincts, and ability to adapt made all the difference. He kept us on fish all day and made the entire experience both productive and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a guide who truly knows what he's doing and works hard to make sure you succeed, I can’t recommend Mauricio enough.

  From the inital booking and communication to the actual trip, everything went smooth. Martin was quick to reply to any questions I had. I spent 8 hours with Mau and we fished several different areas getting into a good number of fish. He was very knowledgeable and got me on the species I wanted to target. I’ve done many guided. trips and charters over the years and this was one of the best experiences I’ve had. I Highly recommend this service if you are visiting the Cancun area and I will definitely be back in the future.

  great experience

  3/4 Day trip - Nov-Apr (AM) on February 17, 2026 • 2 adults

  My daughter and myself had a great 3/4 day on the water. I didn’t boat many fish but not by any fault of the guide. I chose to focus on tarpon and wow they are harder to land than I ever expected but what a battle. (Also note I blew my shoulder out a week before our trip and still chose to fly fish). Soooooo many hook ups and great fights but my own human error hampered my overall success. We had chances at tarpon, snook and trevalle in our six hours. I 100% recommend the experience to other anglers. I’d also like to mention the boating experience through the channels in the mangroves, truly video worthy.

  it has always been my dream to catch a Tarpon on a fly rod in a place like this. I had excellent communication as soon as I booked my trip. I met my friend Mauricio (Mo) at the marina. First he asked me how I wanted to fish. I said I like fly fishing. He told me that it is challenging and I have to make a good cast to catch a fish. We set out and had a great afternoon. He was like fishing with my best friend all day. He even hassled me when I screwed up on casts. ❤️ I caught Tarpon, Barracuda and Snook on a fly rod which is all I ever wanted! Since I was a little kid, I wanted to do this and these guys took me there. I'll never forget this trip and my recommendation is if you are serious about this kind of fishing.. just go you and Mo. It would not have been as awesome if I brought a friend. Thanks guys. I will be back!
