Down South Charters

Robbie was great! We caught hog fish, grouper, snapper, snook, jack, grunt and a few others! Was a fun day on the water and we would recommend Robbie to anyone! 

Fantastic time! 

Capt Robbie absolutely killed it! His knowledge and facts were unparalleled. Dude was so attentive and made us feel completely welcomed. He made sure we all caught something and knew all the good spots. We did the inland tour and can’t wait to come back and fish offshore with him.

Great day in Naples & Marco Island!

We went with four anglers and had a wonderful time fishing. Lots of space and the  Captain is very experienced. We caught lots of fish. Really enjoyed the day and recommend!

We had an amazing time out fishing on a last minute booking. We caught a decent amount of fish and got to see lots of wildlife along the way. We would recommend booking for anyone looking for some inshore action.

Great trip with Down South Charters!

Had a great half day with Robbie.  The wind was up on the morning of our trip, so Robbie had to take us into the “backcountry” for fishing.  We caught fish at every spot that he guided us into…including a great run of Pompano!  Robbie was super helpful and accommodating to us (range of teenagers to my father in law in his mid-seventies).   He easily gauged each of our fishing/casting abilities and applied the right help as needed.   We had a great time, caught some great fish for the grill, and will most certainly go out with him again next time we are down in the Naples area.  Thanks Robbie!

Perfect Half Day on the Water

Full day trip was absolutely awesome. Beautiful boat and knowledgeable Captain. This is the best charter I’ve been on. Even in the summer heat we caught a ton of fish. He knows all the best spots. We will definitely be going out with Captain Christian again!

Best Charter experience yet!

Went out for a great morning with Capt. Robbie.   Good communication to set up the morning. Boat was very well equipped for the day.  Baitfish were onboard so were able to start fishing quickly.  Capt Robbie ran us through lots of different locations and when things slowed down at one location, we quickly moved to another.  We headed a little way offshore first and caught/released a small grouper, a nice snook, and hooked and lost a Goliath grouper.  Then we headed closer to shore and caught/released a bunch of snook and a few snapper.  Robbie is a very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful Capt.  I would highly recommend and plan to fish with him again.  

Half Day with Downsouth Charters

With colder waters, inshore fish are gathering in deeper holes and channels in the back bays – a lot of species are available in a small area. Spotted Seatrout, Pompano, Redfish, and Black Drum are just a few on offer.

The weather can be changeable. This makes flexibility key, with a lot on offer for those in the know. As well as Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper, and Trout, warm-water species like Snook and Redfish appear.

The days start to get longer and strong east winds keep the water clean and clear. Tarpon starts to come into the coves, flats, and backcountry, and Snook starts to migrate to the passes. Trout is consistently good on the grass flats.

Warmer weather starts to settle in, with water temperatures in the 70s. This is a transition month, so the weather can be unpredictable. Get it right, and you'll have great fishing for Snook, Redfish, Tarpon, and Shark.

May sees large numbers of Snook getting ready to spawn around the shoreline and passes. Tarpon fishing is excellent in the early morning and late evening. The weather is warm and reliable this time of year.

This is the peak time to sight fish for Snook, catching and releasing as per regulations. Tarpon fishing is good off the beaches and Sharks are caught in the shallow bays and nearshore.

Early morning and late evening fishing remains the best option, with large numbers of Snook still congregating in the passes to spawn. You can also find exciting Shark fishing in the bays.

Temperatures are very high in the daytime, so most fishing is limited to early morning and evenings. Offshore, seas are calm. This can be a good opportunity to put meat in the freezer – Kingfish, Snapper, and Grouper are biting well.

Hurricanes can potentially disrupt fishing as the weather starts to transition towards the fall. Nearshore, you will find King and Spanish Mackerel biting well, with large Bull Reds also in the cards.

Water temperatures cool considerably, making the all-day bite better than it was in previous months. Fish start to move into the back bays and passes. The Redfish bite is on fire in October.

Speckled Trout migrate into the back bays and are caught in good numbers over shallow patchy grass areas. You can find Bluefish and Pompano in the same spots. King and Spanish Mackerel are around nearshore.

This is Southwest Florida's busiest time of year, with comfortable temperatures throughout the day and good fishing for Snook, Trout, Redfish, Pompano, and Jack inshore. Offshore, there are Kingfish, Snapper, and Grouper.
