Sam was a fantastic captain and covered a huge area to find tarpon and some bonefish. Most of the day the tarpon proved elusive, but preservation paid off with a take and run at the back end of the day, but it’s the story of the big one that got away. Nonetheless an awesome experience with captain who was extremely knowledgeable and provided expert guidance for someone sea fly fishing for the first time.

Though there were storms all around us cpt Sam managed to avoid them all and get us into tarpon. Having fished for tarpon in the past I know it is a visual game. For me, I had a hard time spotting them but Sam saw them and got us in casting range even with the wind. He worked his you know what off but with his calm demeanor and work ethic we (he) kept at it. This is my 2nd trip with him.

Highly recommend trip with Sam he is a local who knows the territory like the back of his hand.  We caught a variety of fish from snappper to tarpon. Lots of keepers and a lot of fun hooking multiple tarpon. Bonus was a large nurse shark who trailed us for a good part of the trip, was a good luck charm! Highly recommend this captain!!

We had a good time with Captain Sam, he put my wife (non-fisherman) on some fish, we saw a lot of wildlife and she enjoyed be on the water.  It was only a half day trip and we spent some of that time catching bait.  I would like to have had a shot at some different species but time was short.  Overall, it was a good trip, I liked Captain Sam and would definitely consider booking him again.

While I did not fish, Sam took me and my husband to many areas to fish.  We saw sharks, dolphins, bone fish, barracuda, apparently a manatee that disappeared too quickly.  It was a wonderful day to be out in nature.  Being a hunter, I know it’s not always about the catch.
