Mystic Amara had a conflict for our date. The Captain reached out a few days before the trip and had Pacific Marlin with Captain Sloan and First Mate Terry arranged for our same time and place for our party of 2. We had some rain and sporty sea but that didn’t stop us from having fun and catching 18 Mahi Mahi, 2 barracuda, and 1 Mackerel. Only a few got away. Caption Sloan arranged for the restaurant to cook our Mahi for us. We had 4 steaks cooked perfectly! They also made me perfect sushi rice. When I slid the fish off of the skin, the skin was still Yellow and Blue! Since we caught so much a few locals came and bought some of the fish and we got to watch them cut it up and bag it on ice. It really was the best fishing experience and great stories from our vacation. This excursion was roughly the same price as the 40 person Catamaran tour, and the helicopter tour. Crew was great. On time and energetic, Captain Leroy and first mate Sean were on it. We caught a decent tuna and a barracuda. Overall, a very slow day though. I know the crew can’t make the fish bite, but I wish we would have had a backup plan to the the 3+ hours of trolling. We fell asleep for 30-45 min at a time with no bites.

Sean worked his tail off. We missed a good fish that took the leader and gear from us. Would have liked to done a little bottom fishing perhaps to just get the lines tight a bit but the captain was on a trolling mission.

Boat was good and comfortable. No issues with equipment or anything.
