- Background
- I've been fishing and guiding on Lake Erie for over 2 decades. Officially started Chagrin Valley Charters after my recent retirement to share the beauty of Lake Erie and its great fishing opportunities with my customers. Purchased the fishing vessel Carol Ann in 2010 and invested in the latest equipment and upgrades for each crew's safety and comfort. Fishing Lake Erie is my passion along with developing a hands-on experience for my customers. I am fully insured, documented with USCG as Master Captain, and 1st Aid/CPR certified every 2 years.
- Techniques
- Depends on time of season and what's catching. It's the Customers choice on method of fishing with me, but I will do my best to inform you on which methods are producing the best catch and let you make the decision. Typical in Apr/May we can jig/cast and troll for our fish and as the season progresses, trolling becomes our main method. Later in summer as fish move out for the smelt, we run deeper programs trolling for walleye and steelhead. From Oct - Dec, we focus on trophy walleye for Fall Brawl/Walleye Slam and move from large planner boards to "off-shore" inline boards during day and yes....night time trolling.
