We target trophy Walleye and Smallmouth Bass during April and May out in the Western Basin. You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, trolling, jigging, casting, or maybe something more specialized in this area. The fish caught are yours to taCharters and find out what the fishing in Grand River is all about! Having logged many hours on these waters, Captain Nick knows them forwards and back.
Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Walleye, Yellow Perch, Smallmouth Bass, and more are in the cards if conditions are right. For these species, you're likely to troll using light tackle or cast.
You're welcome to bring home some of the fish you catch within the legal limit and fish cleaning is located nearby for an additional cost. We are docked by 2 great waterside restaurants while your fish are being cleaned.
You'll be dropping lines from a 30' Tiara fishing that can carry up to 6 passengers. Why fish on a smaller narrow beam boat on Lake Erie, when you can safely enjoy a well-equipped large-scale boat for you fishing pleasure and comfort. It comes with all the essentials. Powered by twin 383 strokers, this boat is second to none! There's a private toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, as well as lures.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome and child-sized life vests are available. It's never a bad idea to bring sunblock (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water.

Booked this trip as a surprise for my father’s birthday. He and several friends had a great time fishing for walleye out on Lake Erie. Capt. Nick was friendly, professional, and the boat was beautiful. Father really enjoyed the trip. He mentioned Capt. Nick even stayed out in the water a bit longer than scheduled and had fish cleaning service waiting upon their return to the dock. Father was so impressed he asked me where I found this trip, no doubt he will be telling everyone he knows about it…and not just fish stories! Highly recommend Chagrin Valley Charters.

We left the dock on a beautiful morning in calm seas. Later that day the water got very choppy. Captain Nick was not phased and he was dedicated to us catching our limit. He made it easy in rough waters and put us on the fish. Great experience on the water. He also handled the cleaning of the catch and the shipping back to Chattanooga. Firs class experience.

Came up from Texas and Oklahoma with my Brothers and Chartered with CPT Nick and it was well worth the trip!! My brothers, uncle and I, 5 in all. Had an absolute blast!! He put us on walleye right off the bat! Before he could even get us set up we were puttering them in the boat!! CPT Nick is a really great guy, down to earth and really knows his craft! We had an absolutely perfect day on the lake with Captain Nick. We were super impressed with everything he had set up. We caught 24 walleye, got our max & had a lot of good laughs along the way. Honestly one of those experiences I’ll probably never forget. I’m coming back next year for more fish!

We had a great trip and caught our limit! Definitely would go with captain nick again! Other fishermen we talked to that were out that night and didnt catch nearly the amount or the size of fish we did! Captain nick knows how to find the fish!

Officially started Chagrin Valley Charters after my recent retirement to share the beauty of Lake Erie and its great fishing opportunities with my customers. Purchased the fishing vessel Carol Ann in 2010 and invested in the latest equipment and upgrades for each crew's safety and comfort. Fishing Lake Erie is my passion along with developing a hands-on experience for my customers. I am fully insured, documented with USCG as Master Captain, and 1st Aid/CPR certified every 2 years.

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 7 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
