AM trip 1/31/25-  I had a great time with Captain Carlos.  He’s a native of Banaire and likes to use traditional methods of fishing which entails using a handline for trolling.  He will adjust to you skill level and does have rods and reel as well.  If you want to catch fish like the Bonairean go with Carlos.  The trip starts out with a safety overview of his boat and what channels the marine radio are used for in case of emergency.  Safety is very important to Carlos as he attended the coast guard school in Curacao.  Then he provides a description of what the plan is for the day to make sure you are comfortable with it.  It was a very windy day and we weren’t able to fish the usual spots he goes to, but he was still able to put us on some fish.  Using handlines is a unique way to catch fish, it was challenging at times but was fun.  We had great conversations between bites and saw different types of sea birds and a ton of flying fish.  He will also fillet your catch for you.  Anyone willing to try new ways of fishing and to learn about Bonaire should go with Carlos.  He is knowledgeable and takes personal interest in his clients.

We had a fantastic day of fishing with Carlos! The experience was just as we had hoped! Booked the trip mainly for our 12 year old son who loves to fish. Carlos was so patient and talked him through everything they were doing. Caught a lot of fish!! First bite in the first 5 minutes of putting the lines in. Was an amazing afternoon and experience for all of us! We will definitely rebook when we are back in Bonaire!

It was great meeting Carlos, the skipper. Gave us a lot of information. while fishing he did everything to try and catch lots of fish.
after all we caught some beautiful tuna and a few queen snappers.
the trip was not an a big boat, but that is even more fun. I recommend this trip to anyone who is in to fishing as it should be

If you’re coming to Bonaire and want to catch some fish, book a trip with Carlos. He is super friendly, professional, and got my wife and I on fish quickly on our honeymoon. Seeing her catch ger first tuna was worth it all for me! We caught tuna and queen snapper, and one fiesty eel. Also, follow Carlos’ recommendation for a “cook your catch” place after your trip to Tasty Bar and Steakhouse in town. Phenomenal end to a great experience.

Captain is young but knowledgeable. Friendly, courteous, and very accommodating as I have a broken ankle. We caught plenty of fish and he even recommended a restaurant to cook our fresh catch. Food was amazing! Hands down one of the best charters I’ve ever done.
