Captain Carlos delivered an outstanding experience from start to finish. He's knowledgeable, professional, and clearly passionate about what he does. From the moment we set out, he made sure everyone felt comfortable and knew what to expect. His attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile really stood out. What impressed me most was how hard he worked to make the trip successful—constantly adjusting, reading conditions, and sharing helpful tips along the way. It never felt rushed or routine; he genuinely cared about making it a great experience. If you're looking for someone reliable, skilled, and easy to get along with, Captain Carlos is a solid choice. I'd absolutely book with him again.

The boat was ready for us to leave when we arrived at 5:45 in the morning. It took just a short time to get to the fishing grounds where the captain put out 2 hand lines with lures to catch some bait fish. The third line was out for some bigger game fish. Unfortunately no fish are biting that morning. After 3 hours of trying that method we switched to bottom fishing. Immediately got a bite and caught one fish, then a second. The crew was very friendly and explained the local way of fishing. Soft drinks and water were provided. The boat was spotless and in excellent condition. For deep bottom fishing we used an electric reel which made it very easy to retrieve fish from 150'. Everybody was disappointed that we only caught two fish, but we all agreed that's why we call this sport "fishing". I would highly recommend Carlos and his services. The next time I'm back in bonaire I'll go fishing with him again.

we started our morning by getting the boat in the water and in the harbour we where catching sardines with a casting net. We needed to drive the boat a while to the spot to start trawling with a special noise maker and handlines. We did not catch a fish and after half an hour our captain Carlos said we were going to do something else so we stopped the boat en we where given handlines en live sardines to put on the hook and what our captain would do was trowing 5 live sardines in the water and one on our hooks and then the fish would eat it and we would start the fight. After 5 hours of fishing we caught 14 fish, whe caught needlefish, amberjack, sheepshead, blackfin tuna and rainbow runners. we went back tho the harbour to clean the fish and the captain would make fish filet from the fish you want to take home and you could choose everything. we had a very nice and fun expierence and i would recomend to al the fellow anglers to try the handlinr method and fish like a local

This is exactly what authentic Bonaire fishing is about starting the morning by catching fresh sardines with the cast net (if they're around that day, because they're not always there) and adapting to whatever the sea gives us. Handline fishing is our local tradition simple but powerful feeling every bite and every fight directly in your hands. That's real island fishing. We're proud you experienced the true local style no shortcuts, just technique, patience, and respect for the ocean. Hope to fish with you again soon!
Wat een topdag op het water met kapitein Carlos! Hij kent het gebied overduidelijk op zijn duimpje. Uiteindelijk maar liefst vier verschillende soorten gevangen: tonijn, red snapper, sand tilefish en als klap op de vuurpijl een prachtige coral grouper. De sfeer aan boord was relaxed en de deskundigheid van Carlos was indrukwekkend. Als je een geslaagde vistrip wilt boeken waarbij je ook echt wat moois binnenhaalt, moet je bij hem zijn. Een absolute aanrader!

Carlos is an experienced fisherman and knows the Caribbean sea well. Carlos knows how to catch tuna, but wahoo will also bite his bait. After being taken out three times by other fisherman and catching nothing, I read about Carlos's experience. Early morning we go out and we caught 14 tuna. If you're going fishing, for sure call Carlos. He has a beautiful boat and professional fishing equipment. And Carlos is a friendly person, which is also important.
