My son and I were to go out April 2nd with Captain Mike and the winds were blowing so he was able to switch our trip to Sunday.  Caught a lot of fish, Jigging off the bottom around the Jetty’s, or what I call the rocks.  We caught every species, (Sheephead, Drum, Red Fish, 1 other)  except a Trout, almost a grand slam.  Had fun with a sting ray that we cut the line at the boat.  Wanted to catch a shark and captain Mike put out crab bait but nothing.  We kept enough fish for dinner and for Captain Mike and released more than we kept.  He cleaned the fish and bagged it.  He recommended a restaurant “Top Water Grill” where they will cook your catch, blackened, almond crusted, and fried.  The blackened was excellent.  We had a fun experience Jetty Fishing on the Gulf.

Mike paid particular attention to our safety foremost while out on the water. He was very knowledgeable of the variety of fish we caught that day. All of his equipment were current models of rods and reels. It was very convenient to have everything we needed to fish provided to us. At the end of the trip everything was cleaned, fileted and bagged for us; nothing went to waste. Prior to our trip, he called to forewarn us of the choppy conditions expected. He took into consideration that the conditions may not be favorable and gave us the opportunity to reschedule. Nonetheless, we kept our trip as planned and caught our limit that day. We had a great time and look forward to our next trip with him.

Captain Meza and I have been friends since elementary school. I wanted to take my son on a Galveston Jetty trip for his report card grades, Captain Meza reached out to me and said he had a great day available. We booked the trip and Captain Meza put us on the fish! My son had never caught anything larger than 10 lbs, well on this trip he caught the biggest fish of his 17 years. A 50 lb black drum (catch and release) with enough fight to make my son feel what a the Jetties have to offer. On top of that he caught his slot red and we finished it off with a two man limit of Sheepshead as well. The trip was a success and I have already booked another trip for my fiancé and I. I am in sales and will be using Captain Meza for taking my customers out to put them on fish in the Galveston complex. There is no doubt Captain Meza will put us on a quality trip and put us on the fish. I look forward to many trips to come. Tight Lines!

Highly recommend Captain Mike and Reel Smooth Guide Service.  First time charter with Captain Mike.  He got us on the fish early, gave us some fishing tips and moved when the fish turned off.  Limited out on trout by 10:00 am and picked some black drum too.

A quick stop at the fish cleaning station and Mike had the days catch filleted, bagged and on ice.  Will definitely take another trip with Captain Mike.
