Do your homework. Ask for and get clear communication with your captain and charter. What it says they offer might not be true. We were not offered a drink, we didn't touch a fishing pole, we were not communicated with and actually the captain had our dates mixed up. Just be attentive with how you proceey

Not sure Punta Mita is the spot to fish, because we had to jet over an hour offshore (~20 miles) to get to a deep sea shelf. Would have been more fun to be able to fish that whole time (instead of waste 2 hours of the trip).

Cold front impossible to fish unless you have a visibility on where there are with much trolling. Follow the weather reports to determine you day. The wind picking up made the day very rough on a 29ft boat.

The fishing and whale watching was wonderful, staff was great. We caught plenty of fish and they where cleaned and fileted for us. My only complaint really is that when we booked the trip, it was quoted in Canadian dollars, but when ask to pay it was US dollars so the trip cost us an extra $100.00 we where planning for. I would suggest that you clarify this before leaving on your trip.

Book a full day trip and bring lots of sunscreen and light layers to cover the skin, because there is no escape from the sun.

Near shore (within 10 miles) and plenty of species biting with a good crew rigging the lines. When you troll near the rocky outcrops you’ll catch fish. So much fun especially for younger kids.

If you’re at all questioning the seas, take Dramamine. You don’t want to risk the enjoyment to be had!

The seasonal bonito and endemic reef fish provide ample action and a great intro for less experienced anglers. Do not expect that "once in a lifetime" trophy fish during this time of year.

Just be ready for whatever happens and have fun! It's called fishing and not "catching" afterall. There will be great days, and there will be slow days.

We only fished a half day and went out about 8 miles so we did not see any billfish but were very pleased with the day. As an added bonus we saw lots of humpback whales!

It was my girlfriend’s first time saltwater fishing. The captain did a great job hooking her up fish all day. It was perfect.

Always lots to catch in these waters. I would reccomend 8 hours to go out a little further to target some of the larger species.

The water was beautiful and the ocean was calm and very clear. The ocean is very healthy here in Mexico.

Do your homework on what's running before hand. And clearly communicate what you want to go for. Fish to take home, a good fight, etc.

Excellent spot to catch a good quantity of quality fish. If you’re going after one huge trophy I’m not sure this is the spot as we didn’t really see that.

The waters were crystal clear once you got past the "garbage line". One of the deepest blues I have seen. Plenty of varieties of fish in the waters for any kind of fishing you would like to do.

May is a tricky month with the water temps changing but still lots of opportunity for many tasty species
