What would you recommend to anglers fishing in South Haven, Michigan for the first time?

Listen to your crew. We’re from St Louis. Fishing in the Great Lakes was very different than fishing in other Mid-West lakes. We lost a couple of nice sized salmon because we used other hook & reel techniques that simply don’t work when fishing in Lake Michigan. Following the crews advice we managed to catch plenty of nice size salmon, including the sixteen pounder my son caught.

Captain Bob communicated well prior to the trip and Captain Kevin and First Mate Scott were experienced and made the trip enjoyable.

Yes I would recommend, however but not in September, it is unpredictable, Captain Bob said that May through August is best. I will probably take my wife and my kids for next year.

If you're looking for a good haul of Coho, King Salmon, and Lake Trout, it's the perfect time of the year to go fishing in South Haven.

Easy access to the lake. Cloudy day and calm water. Early July fishing yielded some nice fish

We caught 24 fish between the two boats, so can't imagine a better place to go out fishing.

I would suggest going in the morning if it is available but we had a great time in the afternoon.
