Went fishing with AnchorsBook – 24' Fishing Speedboat Cruise on December 31, 2024
Guy shows up with no fishing rods no tackle, no ice, nothing, boat is booked as fishing charter, he pulls out of the slip in the dark 100 yards down I ask him where's the rods he goes we don't have any?? Go back to the slip waste an hour while he runs around trying to borrow 2 rods. Again no hooks no sinkers nothing. It was a total fraud clown world they took my money wouldn't give it back. We finally went out with broken tackle, middle of the trip the rusted borrowed spinning reel handles broke off. Total cluster F., S crap show never seen any joke fraud charter like this in my life I have been to over 80 countries. Stay away from Anchorsbook. Note to owner, hey just cause you own a boat dont mean you can put it up for a charter this is the equivalent of going camping without a tent or any food or water we had a terrible time and Anchorsbook did not want to remediate or offer any solution and blamed me for the broken reel handles the skipper had to borrow from his friend. Stay far far away and I will report you to dubai municipal you had no safety equipment nothing on board this was a complete and utter joke!!! ruined my vacation time the one day I had to go fishing never ever again!!

Do some research in what type of fish you would like to catch. Mostly we were jigging at the bottom of the sea. Basically, let your line with lead out and let it go all the way to the bottom. Since there are currents and the the boat is floating away, you might want to give out more rope. In the meanwhile keep jigging to lure in fish and feel whether you have hooked them. If not, give more way for the rope.

Read the weather, the sea and the time of the year as these are the most important factors when fishing. Make sure to cover up well to protect you from the sun. Communicate in advance with your captain about your needs and he can inform you what to expect.

A longer trip is a good idea. We caught fish in the first 4 hours between 12:00 and 16:00, but the best part was before the sunset, between 17:00 and 18:00.

Pick your skipper carefully and ignore any saying you’ll catch sail fish and marlin etc. Go out early when it’s cooler and do at least a six hour trip

Don't worry about quality of fishing equipment, it's great so no need to bring your own. Bring snacks if you want to but water and soft drinks are provided.
