Put 10 flounder in the boat today on the beginning of the incoming tide.

Went looking for some striped bass and blues. Found flounder instead. Flounder season opens May 4th. They are here! See you again Sunday, flounder.

When conditions have allowed us to hit the ocean we’ve been putting nice flounder onboard.

The water temperature averaged a bit higher yesterday and some clearer water pushed in on the incoming tide. The flounder responded well to the more favorable conditions. We still had to overcome the persistent hard south wind that has been blowing in the afternoons. But diligent boat handling combined with persistent anglers put some nice big flounder on deck. Fun day with great guests on both morning and afternoon trips.

Fishing has been hot and cold over the last 10 days (so has the water temperature). Lots of action on some trips, slower on others. But we’re still finding quality flounder.

We found some nice ones on a two hour trip. Live bait and lures got bites.
