Still Catching! Had to stray away from our recent hot spot we’ve been fishing. Only a couple nice walleyes to show for and a big smallie that came loose on an acrobatic move. Went on a 15 mile long search that landed us in 10-18’ of water near Huron. It was steadily busy thereafter for the remaining 2 hours of the morning trip and again for the afternoon party. Plenty of walleyes for everyone to have a big fish fry and a few monster Cats and Sheepies to keep everyone on their toes!

Limits again today for 1st time Lake Erie Walleye fishers Matt and Boston. Good going guys! Same program again today. Just a bit more challenging as the fish seemed to be holding tight to one area with several boats and many weeds adrift. Wowzers though, nice grade of fish! Enjoy the fish fry!

Put the SmackDown on them once again today! We are still getting a really good grade of Island fish here in August. All 17-26” Launching from Marblehead, fishing the same spot and the same lures as the last month or more. 2.2mph with Flicker Minnows. Had a great group of guys on board this morning. Walleye fishing was Great again this weekend!! The East side of Kelly’s Island produced a good grade of fish up to 27” long today! They’re actively feeding on both shiners and shad—they’re puking them up in the fish tank. The morning trip was with Jack and Bill Robinette, up to visit the peninsula for the weekend. We started in the same spots as last weekend with flicker minnows in white and perch-colored patterns out behind our boards, just 30-40 feet. Before we could get the last rods set, it was “Game On!!” Ideal speed was about 2.2 mph. Limits of walleye were caught, along with a couple nice smallmouth and only one or two farm animals. The second trip was with the Westfall party—Rachael, Cody, and Chad. Although the sun was high and the water was clear, the fish stayed right where we left them. It’s like the Golden Corral—those big fish don’t stray too far from the Smorgasbord! Shortly into the second trip, Cody started us out with a slam dunk on a nice 27” fish!! ?Limits of fish were had by all, and it was a Beautiful day on this Great Lake! Ended out with a treat from Brown’s, a fresh Catawba peach Sundae! ? Good Luck to the Softball Girls today and GO Quakes! (Exception to 9/26, GO Bears!) Trip is available for next Sunday.

7/18/26 and 7/19/26 Again this weekend, not the best wind conditions for the place we wanted to go and catch GIANTS. Therefore we went back to Kelly’s Island where we had caught our limits last Saturday. We ended up in shallower water today, but with the same results. Still running the same Flicker Minnow program as the last month. If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it!! Fish were puking up what appeared to be many 2” shad. Nice to see our southern friends from the Houston area get to experience fishing on “the walleye capital of the world”! Enjoy the fish fry Mike and Jose!! Trip #2 was with Brandon, Tiffany and her son Landon. What a pleasure it was to fish with them as well! Congrats to the young man on finishing up his first Lake Erie trip with a nice 26” walleye!!

For our second trip of the day, I met up with Brandon, Joe, Joey, and Carter and launched out of Sheffield. After about 30 minutes of running, we found some nice marks on sonar in 50 feet of water. As soon as the lines went in, it was game on! We had an incredible day, ending with a cooler full of 30 walleye, including several giants. The guys were all smiles chasing big girls all afternoon. I’m not so sure about Carter… ladies, from the pics I think he found himself a cutie! ???? To top it all off, we finished the day with a true monster that taped out well over the 31.5-inch “Judge” ruler, pushing right around 32 inches. It crushed a black-headed Wonder Bread #9 Flicker Minnow from Hammertime Lures. Flicker Minnows were absolutely on fire today, running anywhere from 40 to 90 feet back with up to three-ounce snap weights set at 30 feet. What a day, boys!
