You will most likely find yourself trolling for Walleye as we can most efficiently cover water and increase our catch rate. You are able to troll with 3 rods per person in Ohio waters of Lake Erie
You are encouraged to contact Capt. Jim and discuss what your objectives are. Whether you are looking to just have a fun day of catching fish or wish to learn something in particular, Capt. Jim can help tailor the trip to suite your needs. (i.e. using electronics, test riding the North River, Walleye trolling tips and tricks, etc…)
Young ones are welcome, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, so the proper sizes can be prepared ahead of time. Snacks are also a good idea to stay fueled throughout your trip!
Your boat for the day is a 23' North River Seahawk. With plenty of space in the Stern, 3 passengers can fish comfortably. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water, including a bimini and enclosed cabin should you need it. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is provided as necessary.
Before coming aboard, you'll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.
It's recommended to bring sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and drinks. Alcohol is not allowed.

Captain Jim Wick gave us an absolutely fantastic day on Lake Erie. There were three of us, and from the beginning, Jim made the entire experience easy, enjoyable, and memorable. We came home with 18 walleye! Jim knew exactly where to put us on the fish, and he was patient, knowledgeable, and willing to teach along the way. We weren’t just passengers on a boat — we felt like we were fishing with someone who genuinely wanted us to have a great experience. What really put Jim over the top was what happened afterward. His afternoon charter happened to cancel, and instead of simply calling it a day, he took the extra time to clean all 18 of our walleye for us. He certainly didn’t have to do that, and it says a lot about the type of captain and person he is. Great fishing, great conversation, excellent service, and a captain who goes above and beyond for his customers. If you’re looking for a Lake Erie walleye charter, book Captain Jim Wick. We would absolutely fish with him again. 18 walleye and a great day on the lake — couldn’t ask for much more! 🎣

My 10 yr old son and I had an awesome time fishing with Captain Jim. His boat and gear are excellent and he knows the lake bery well. He put us right on the fish were and we hit our limit and caught some real nice ones. Jim was super patient with my son and taught us some new fishing tricks and cool facts about the lake. Looking forward to another trip in the fall!

I had a wonderful fishing trip with Captain Jim.. This was my first time doing a charter and i plan on doing it again.. we caught our limit of Walleye and had some that evening for dinner and it was great.. I highly recommend this Charter and CaptJim.. Thankd for a great experience..

Captain Jim was amazing! He went above and beyond to ensure we had an awesome experience! This was our son's first time Walleye fishing, and Jim did not disappoint. He was patient and took extra time to ensure he had the best day!! We would highly recommend Jim!!

I do not consider Guiding to be as much of a job as I see it being an opportunity to share the Lake Erie experience with others.
