offshore the fishing has been great. Red grouper, gag grouper, big mangrove snapper, yellowtail snapper, amberjack, and more have all been producing on our deeper offshore trips. Gag grouper and greater amberjack are both open to harvest in September, giving anglers a great opportunity to target two of the Gulf’s hardest-fighting offshore species. Gag grouper have been holding around ledges, reefs, wrecks, and hard bottom, while amberjack can be found around deeper wrecks, reefs, towers, and other offshore structure. Live bait and a variety of bottom-fishing techniques have been producing, and on the better weather days we’ve been able to push farther offshore and find some really good action.
