Fall Smallmouth
August 21, 2020
As the summer winds down the Susquehanna Smallmouth become much more aggressive. The small finesse baits that are the normal for the summer will be replaced by much bigger more aggressive baits such as Jerk Baits, Crankbaits and Spinnerbaits. This is my favorite time of the year the fall foliage is beautiful the bugs have gone away and the Smallmouth and Walleye get very hungry plus the bonus Musky become more common. So if you want to experience a World Class Smallmouth Fishery give me a call and we will set something up. I have several helpers on staff so we can make it happen.

Open for Business
April 28, 2020
Hello all, I do sincerely hope all my fishing friends and safe and tolerating the shelter in place order. I have some good news to report we are open for charters but will have to maintain social distancing guidelines as put forth by the CDC. Also one other change all charters from May 1st moving forward will will only be allowed to take two fishermen no matter how small they are. These rules are put out by the CDC and will be enforced by PFBC. We will also need to wear a Sun Buff or a face mask at all times, I know most of you wear a Buff so this is no big deal to you. As far as fishing, the Smallmouth are in Pre Spawn and are very hungry and willing to chase most baits. Last week I personally caught over ten citation fish. So if your looking to get out and enjoy some fresh air set something up the weather is looking better and the fishing is good.

Smallmouth Smallmouth and more Smallmout
August 10, 2019
Been a while since my last post I have been very busy. It has been a while since the Susquehanna has reached such favorable levels for Smallmouth Fishing. Over the past month my clients have boated over two-thousand Smallmouth bass and a very good number of Walleye. Mike and Ryan have been handling my Catfish charters and they have been doing very well with them. So far this summer it’s been all about power fishing for the Smallmouth as SickCustom Spinnerbaits and OnTheSpotBaits Chatterbait has been doing the trick. As usual the old standby KeitechUSA Swimbaits continue to produce. Since joining Lew’s Guide Staff I have been very impressed with the quality and ease of use of their spinning-reels as I have not experienced one single failure and very few tangles. Denali Rods continue to perform at the highest level allowing my clients to cast all day in comfort and still have plenty of power to land the big ones. Had the pleasure of introducing several young people to River Smallmouth Fishing I do believe they are hooked for life. As always all fish caught from my boat along with Ryan and Mikes boats are 100% released to fight another day. Give me a call if you want to experience some World Class Smallmouth Fishing.

Spring 2019 not over yet
May 31, 2019
So far this Spring has been awesome with 12 citation size Smallmouth, 3 citation Walleye and 3 citation Channel Cats. Yes there has been a lot of high water but the Susquehanna is a big river and I have many options to find clear fishable water. To date we have had 3 hot baits, as always TackleHd Crawfish continues to produce. Fitt Premium lures Bubba Craw and OnTheSpotBaits Swimbaits have produced very well. KeitechUSA Swimbaits are always tied on a rod as they are my “numbers bait” Rapala Brat Square Bill crankbait and Sick Custom Spinnerbaits have each had their moments. DenaliRods have been doing the trick with zero failures and are extremely sensitive. This season they are paired with Lews reels, so far very pleased with Lews they have a smooth drag and manage the line very good. With the spawn out of the way I am expecting summer patterns to set up shortly. So far this year fishing pressure has been extremely light. Mike has been on good Stripers this year and Ryan is ready to handle all my evening charters. So if you wish to experience some World Class Smallmouth Fishing give me a call and book a trip.
