GREAT DEEP SEA FISHING AND WEATHER
GREAT DEEP SEA FISHING AND WEATHER
January 12, 2020
Deep Sea fishing charters aboard CATCH 22, offshore fishing trips / fishing charters over the last week have produced some great offshore fishing weather in Noosa on the Sunshine coast. The weather has been sensational and produced some great eating species on our deep sea fishing charters, Departing from Noosa Marina Tewantin. There has been a abundance of bait fish around the local reefs a mild current running from North to South which has made for some great fishing on the close reefs, which is a bonus to cut travel time and make the most of the good fishing without travelling to far. There has been some really good reef fish been boated aboard CATCH 22 on our Noosa fishing charters, majority of our trips have been 1/2 and 3/4 day fishing charters as we are in the middle of school holidays plenty of locals and tourist making the most of the great weather conditions and great offshore fishing to be had this time of the year on our fishing charters. Coral trout have been caught in good numbers on the close reefs, Scarlett perch, parrot, sweet lip, medium size squire around 2kg, have been the majority of reef fish being caught on the bottom rigs, the floaters and live baits have been landing some really good spotty and spanish mackeral , dolphin fish & cobia. Most of these fish have been caught around sunshine reef, chardons reef, jew shoal, halls, and inside edge of North reef which is not to far to travel and makes quite easy fishing. Trolling live yakkas and gar fish have also produced some wahoo and small sail fish on the outside edge of chardons reef and north of the coffees, in saying that the spotty mackeral seem to be in good numbers but patchy and moving around the local reefs alot, and some mornings take a little bit of time to pin point exactly where they are, but most days we have been getting a few fat ones on our Noosa Offshore fishing charters..

Deep Sea Fishing CO Noosa ABOARD CATCH 2
Deep Sea Fishing CO Noosa ABOARD CATCH 2
December 31, 2019
The last weeks Deep Sea Fishing charters aboard Catch 22, have been producing some nice mahi mahi , Spanish and spotty mackerel , cobia, some nice big estuary cod, small to medium size scarlet sea perch, pearl perch, and sharks - some very big sharks at that we have had a few of our Penn reels fully spooled out by these guys, but the customers had so much fun with the sheer power of these 6 foot sharks - What a experience. In saying that we have had to work hard for our fish on certain days offshore fishing off Noosa. Hit and miss in the prevallng eastly winds and strong currents back to SE made a few days there quite challenging to fish. There has been some good spotty and Spanish mackerel being caught on floaters and live baits on the northern end of sunshine reef and jewel shoal and in close near the shark nets at sunshine. Also some small scarlet sea perch , pearl perch and estuary cod also around on sunshine reef, but the current some days made it pretty challenging to bottom fish. Deep Sea Fishing Co Noosa aboard CATCH 22 have boated some nice size dolphin fish and cobia on floaters also around North reef, there is some good patches of small yakkas that seem to be enticing the cobia and pelagic up there at the moment. There is also a fair bit of shark action when fishing around these bait schools targeting these fish with hooks and quality fish that have been smashed by sharks on the way up - which is quite common for this time of the year offshore fishing the local reefs of Noosa - Sunshine Coast. Laguna Bay was holding some good schools of mackerel a week or so back but them fish seemed to of moved on we have had a look on the way out to the reefs on a couple of days this week but decided to move on as the volume of fish just arnt there at the moment but im sure if you anchored up on halls and got a good burleigh trail run in and put some floaters out you will probably still pick up a mackerel or two.

Noosa Charter Fishing
Noosa Charter Fishing
December 14, 2019
Our customers on our 1/2 and 3/4 day fishing charters with Deep Sea Fishing Co. Noosa have been hooking into some very large cod and cobia aboard CATCH 22, on our offshore fishing trips over the past few days. Most of these big cod and cobia cant resets a fresh live bait, so we have been heading to the bait grounds jigging up fresh yakkas and taking them back to the fishing grounds and boating alot of these large species on our fishing charters lately. While fishing for these bigger fish can be really exciting you need to make sure your fishing tackle and fishing gear is in good condition and serviced regularly as these species always strip line and go for mega runs. If your gear isn’t of good quality your excitement quickly turns to disappointment real quick as these fish have some serious power and needs to be pulled up quickly away from the bottom or you just get busted up. Deep Sea Fishing this time of the year with northerly winds can be quite challenging some times your smaller to medium size reef fish can be a bit slow after late morning into early afternoon for these species, but your larger cod, cobia, mackeral, tuna, dolphin fish need to be targeted and usually you will have success around your local reefs. Our full day fishing charters out to the wider fishing grounds off Noosa. The deep sea fishing up around double island point and the wider grounds has been producing big goldband snapper, amber jack, scarlet perch, Nobby snapper, amber jack, and some BIG venus tusk fish. These fishing charters have been leaving early and returning early afternoon before the northelys winds pick up and blow to hard, fishing the wider grounds this time of year is quite easy to boat large reef fish if the current isnt to strong. These fishing trips usually produce some really good size reef fish, there is alot more travel time involved of these full day fishing charters, but the quality and quantity of fish is well worth the drive. These fishing grounds are usually only fished by the larger fishing vessels and highly recommended for the keen fisherman or fisherwomen who loves there deep sea fishing. 1/2 and 3/4 Deep Sea fishing charters have been really successful around the local fishing grounds but most quality fish have been caught using live bait so we highly recommend jigging up some yakkas on the way out to the reef. Full day fishing charters to the wider grounds has been where all the bigger reef fish have been on the chew taking fresh dead baits and live baits either or in good numbers, but there is a fair bit of travel time involved but well worth it once your there, good size snapper, scarlett perch, gold band snapper, cobia, amber jack, and many more are on the chew out wide. ?
