Another interesting day at sea yesterday, interesting in that it all seems to have changed again. The bait was not as prolific and the water a little cooler with hardly any current. We started trolling in eighty fathoms where the was some patchy bait and worked our way out zigzagging across the shelf between eighty and one hundred and thirty fathoms working northwards. After a couple of hours of futile zigging and zagging I turned East and started to pick up bait balls but they were quite deep. So, we did eventually get a strike on the ‘Lumo’ but nobody saw it because the sun was behind us and there was a decent chop due to the twenty knot North Easter blowing and the fish didn’t jump. Consequently there was a lot of guessing as to the species as you’ll hear in the video. All in all it was a good day made so by a beautiful Striped Marlin being a first for the angler and his more then ebullient mates. So far this has been a great start to the Marlin season especially since the currents have not really set up yet. Tight lines, Ivan • All lure used unless otherwise specified are Pakula Lures .

A sound like we all dream sbout —#SMACK#—ripped through the air! A reel instantly erupted into a furious, high-pitched scream. Was it a terrifying shark? A powerful Cobia? No... it was a MONSTER MULLOWAY, and he was ready for a brutal, back-breaking fight! The reel wailed, protesting every inch of line taken, but the boys were fueled by adrenaline. This was no ordinary catch—this was reeling in a sweet dream fish as the very first hook-up of the day! But the action didn't stop there. After hauling in a mixed bounty including tough Tuskfish and lurking Flathead, the next ultimate prize made its move. The second major dream fish of the trip slammed the line—a formidable Cobia—battling with savage intensity, determined to win the deep-sea war! It's safe to say these anglers didn't just win a few skirmishes; they won the entire campaign! They now head home not just with a haul, but with legendary tales and incredible, ocean-soaked memories that will last a lifetime.
