Fresh Whitby Fishing Reports

It has been a very different fishing season this year due to the cold spring, extra rain and very high water levels. The thermocline took a long time to set up and we have had upwellings and major temperature swings being the norm. We have been catching salmon and steelhead from 1 foot to 80 feet with depths varying daily. The larger king salmon are back more consistantly. The fishing will be good and getting better.

September has been proviing great action for king salmon!

These Michigan anglers tried Our Lake Ontario waters for the first time. Northern King Lures were the hot item on this trip. Purple Thunder was the go to colour for King Salmon action.

The salmon are here and the big kings are also starting to show up. Don’t miss the action. These three all preferred the Len Thompson Dimpled Series Lures. Lost a high king also on the same lure type when the braided line broke after a very long fight and being almost spooked twice! Green with orange was the hot colour of the day.
