Find a captain who knows the area and how to fish. Our captain had us on the fish and we were the only boat in the area. He even did some casting and caught fish while we were stopped and dealing with all the fish we just reeled in.

make sure you know what is in season and what you are aiming for. Booking a trip for fish that is not in season leads to disappointment. You will still have fun but might not be what you expected.. Manage your expectations and you will have a great time.. Also.. seasickness is a thing, be prepared!

If it's your first time fishing in Ensenada, book with Lucky II and their crew. They were experienced, patient, and worked hard to keep us on fish. Stay flexible with techniques and try live bait if trolling is slow. March gave us a great mixed bag, and having a local restaurant cook our catch made the experience even better.
