With only 20 minutes driving from Amsterdam, it’s tempting to go for me to do a quick pike session if time permits. Today I wanted to check out some spots I hadn’t fished this year yet, and try some new baits. This slender but super strong lady couldn’t resist the new V-One of Charlies Fishing tackle. The Garmin LiveScope proved priceless again for pelagic fishing, targeting large pike.

Edwin lives in Amsterdam and hires our service on a regular basis. It had been a while that he caught any pike over 10lb, and that needed to change. He chose trolling the great wide open water of the Gooimeer, 20 km from Amsterdam. Besides the Thruline Roach of Savage Gear, the good old Spro Screaming Devil was given lots of swimming time today. Not a bad choice, given his catches today.

The worse the weather, the better the pike fishing. That seemed to be the motto today. It was quite hard to fish the right spots because if the fierce winds, but that didn’t really seem to matter ;-) The Minn Kota trolling motor worked hard to keep us on track, my guest worked hard casting the softbait in the right direction and the pike fought hard to stay out of the boat. Very rewarding!
