Fresh Stonington Fishing Reports

We ran a trip on July 17th and landed our first commercial giant tuna of the season. The fish have moved into our area and are biting pretty good now!

The striped bass bite is on fire right now! On our most recent full day inshore trip we landed our legal limit of slot sized keeper bass. We also caught and released 5 fish over 45 lbs with numerous fish in the 30 lb range! If you want to get in on the action give Double Trouble sportfishing a shout!

The fishing in the Westerly/Watch Hill area has been very very consistent to say the least. Each trip we have done over the last two months have basically resulted in full boat limits of Stripped Bass with run of trips with fish to 40 lbs! We had a few offshore trips which resulted in plenty of action on Mahi and White Marlin in early September. Tautog(Blackfish) season has started and we have had plenty of action catching fish up to 8 lbs on Columbus Day weekend in Rhode Island waters. New York state waters open on October 15th so we will have access to all our favorite spots to offer plenty of opportunity to land some of these fierce fighting and tasty fish on our charters going into November!
