Day2. We missed a 2 that may have been really big. That's fishing. Before 9 o'clock we had 11 fish but nothing over 5 lbs. We were on the hunt for a MONSTER so we abandoned the old don't leave fish to catch fish and made some moves and started using 8 -10 inch baits. We only managed two 7s after running slim on bait, on the smallest baits we had? Go figure. Rodman

Day 1 of a 2 day trip Feb 9, with a great new person to know. Semi retired Tuna fisherman. He had knowledge and great stories to tell. Pretty flawless fisherman in the later days of life but, still living it everyday. His last tuna he caught was 180lbs on a spinning rod! Day 1 we had around 13 fish and most solid 3-6 pound fish.

This morning was colder than expected for us old guys after the wind kicked up. The chew wasn't as good as I hoped for but, my man managed a nice 6.9lb'er. Repeat clients from Virginia. Thankful for knowing them and looking forward to the next trips in a few weeks. Love my job and the good folks you get to know as friends.

When your day starts with a fish on the first cast before you can bait a second pole... well it's usually gonna be a good day. Sunday's excursion with CJ and Joe didn't disappoint. Big fish was a 9-3 followed by an 8-2 a 6 ish and a beautiful 5. The winter bite is on at Rodman Reservoir.
