Decided to go crabbing today. Didn't do bad but it was slow so I let my lines soak some between runs. So I fished some shore line structure and sure enough caught some rockfish. Later in the morning while scouting thru the binoculars I saw some dolphins. Well wouldn't you know it, sure enough, they came right by me! I even saw them on the fish finder as they went right under me. Never know what you'll see out there. But I know this you can't see it from the couch. Book a trip today. Get in on the action. Well it looks like the weather has finally decided to be more spring like! Rockfish season for trophy's opened May 1 with a 35 in. minimum size. With the mild winter and everything being ahead of schedule they seem to have spawned early. Most of those biguns are already down the bay. Our season starts May 15 with 2 stripers at 19 in or more. Catfishing is going good and should last a little while longer.We have a couple days left in May and June is starting to fill in.The season looks like this. Rest of May will be chumming with catfish and Rockfish as our main targets. White perch is starting some but not hot and heavy yet but hopefully by June. June we usually start seeing some spot show up and we switch to live lining. July 15 is last day for rockfish till August. June 1 we will be also offering trips from St. Michaels area chasing speckled trout and rockfish in the shallows of the Choptank river area. The Chesapeake Bay has a lot to offer throughout the year. Well it’s November and the weather is changing. Taking a couple days off for fall camping. But then we’ll be back at it. Cooler weather is coming in this weekend. We have been finding some nice fish shallow in low light conditions at times. Then we switch to deeper water. Where trolling and casting and jigging has been producing some nice Rockfish. There are really fattening up for winter. We usually get some big ocean fish showing up about this time of year also. It’s never a given but there is always a chance. This is 1 of the best times of year to catch Striped bass. With the cooler water temps it makes it great for catch and release (if that’s your choice).We have dates available give us a call to get on the books before 2022 is over. We fish till mid December. When it’s bitter out I put the canvas enclosure up and turn on the buddy heater. Locations vary according to were the best fishing is.

Well its day 5 of wind and rain here on the Chesapeake Bay. It will be over soon and guess what? It's Rocktober! October on the Chesapeake Bay is when our migratory species usually exit and the fall run of Rockfish begins. With the cooling waters we will be looking for fish shallow at first light. Then we switch to chasing birds and working river mouths! It's an exciting time of year for sure. Don't miss out we still have some dates available.
