Mr. CJ and family for the 8th time this year. Needless to say they went home with some hats today…. I’ve been off the water since last weekend and we headed out this morning on a mission. 9:30 AM saw us rolling up and packing it back in as the heat started to ramp up. Came to the dock with our limit and threw multiple overs back. We fished a river ledge off an underwater point. 18-25’ down in 40FOW with live shad. Thank you guys for choosing to book with me. Today we arrived at the fishing hole before sunrise and enjoyed the serinity and beauty of the surrounding all while filling the box with nice White bass and Hybrid Stripers.

Stripers and Whitebass on Keystone

Yesterday i was on Keystone again and we were after Stripers and Whitebass. The fish had moved from the shallows into deeper water and were schooling up on the edges of dropoffs. We were using spoons and jigs to catch them. The bite was very early and seemed to quit when the storms rolled through. Lighting always scares them into the deeper water. The water temps are in the high 80’s to low 90’s depending on where your at and the time of day.

Stripers and Catfish!

I have been on Keystone the past few weeks, chasing after the Striper and Blue cats. The lake level has risen to 6’-7’ above normal over the past few days and has muddied up one arm of the lake. The striper bite has died off where I was finding them, due to the chocolate milk looking water. They have moved to the clearer part of the lake, on the Arkansas river side. The thermocline has dropped from 22’ down to about 30’ so the fish have more useable area in the water column. Bait (shad) are as thick as ever so no issues finding enough for the day. The blue cats have been feeding on shad on the shallow flats and have been pretty aggressive when they bite.

If you are driving to Grove, Stay at the Best Western Timberidge! The place is great and 6 minutes from the boat dock. If Fishing in Grove definitely book with Fat Cats Fishing Charter and Captain Jerry

Identify where you will meet your boat ahead of booking a place to stay. We stayed on the south side of the lake and it was 52 miles to Kingston.
