Gusty winds hampered our fishing efforts today and forced us to seek more sheltered, backwater locations. Nevertheless, we boated about 20 crappie with seven nice keepers. All in all, a slow day of fishing, but at least the 80+ degree temperatures made it enjoyable.

In addition to a few nice crappie, today's angler caught a big blue catfish; on a crappie jig and 6 pound test leader. Lake level is falling, but the water is still muddy. Lots of small crappie in shallow water, with just a few good keepers mixed in.
