During October seas offshore can be a little bumpier than during a warm hot summer day! We all had a great time and would definitely recommend these guys for anybody looking to charter out of Freeport.
I would recommend going between July-Sept for anybody going offshore their first time 20+ hours

Why Knot Outfiters
The time of year that we chose to go fishing really isn’t the best time to catch what we were after. This outfitter was still able to find fish for us and we could not have been happier.

Nice to fish when the sun wasn’t up. Cooler weather. Lake to yourself. And I was surprised about the size of bass we caught at the docks under green lights.

Be sure that if you are booking with Captain Garrett to check with him on what he is seeing about expected wind speeds ahead of time, and then be prepared to be flexible. Safety is a big priority with Garrett and he might suggest a different lake if wind is going to be an issue. But he'll work to get you every last fish he can according to how they are biting while doing it with your safety in mind.

If fly fishing, check the wind schedule and have good tackle that can cut through the wind. Great little town with good food and stuff for kids to do. Ferry can get backed up a little.

The weather was really nice, we had some good wind so we were not hot at all. The waters were rough in some spots. Mostly will catch red bull at this time of year with a surprise shark and probably best catch is in the morning hours.
