i had a great time, caught the fish i was looking for with a great captain. i would highly recommend fishing in miami in januarty as the rest of the country is freezing .

I was given advice from friends that fishing above the keys would not be that ideal. However, we had a great time and expect to catch more fish in the area soon.

Yes, but know your personal limitations. Choppy water is rough if you suffer from motion sickness. Prepare properly and enjoy.

Focus on the guide, not the boat. You don't need a 30ft boat to run around in the Miami bays and get to the good fishing!

Either find a decent charter, have some friends who know the area, rent a boat to get to the spots where others are, or go to a jetty or pier. Can't go wrong with jetty or pier fishing and putting some shrimp/crab/ squid on a setup with a hook and a weight like a Carolina rig. Plenty of exotics in the canals as well that will bite even in December. Just watch for gators and snakes!

It's going to cost more than they tell you when you book the trip. If you don't have your own rods It was only an extra $13
But if we didn't have the extra on us it would have been a problem. We paid a $33 deposit and we expected the rest would cost us 77 but that's not what happened when we got there
