Be prepared to grind a bit, but it is worth it. Came back with fish for a full 8 person dinner.

Doc-Lines Fishing Charters
It is extremely hot at the end of July so be sure to pack lots of sunscreen (lotion, the spray puts a greasy feel on the seats), lots of water and prepackaged snacks were super convenient. I suggest reading all of the reviews to decide which charger you decide to take and reach out to them with questions, any I spoke with were quick to respond, I just picked the one that fit us best and I am very satisfied with the charter we decided on!

To answer the question about appropriate for children- I would say yes but there is certainly the chance of getting sea sick. So I think it’s based on the kid.

I would go with Palm State Fishing and Parker, especially if you will be taking children. He was awesome with my son, even extending the trip a bit to give him more opportunities to catch fish. Absolutely awesome experience!

Edisto sun will burn you in minutes. Prepare, hydrate, and bring something to cover up with. Thunderstorms popped up on us without warning, so prepare for the heat and rain.

Captain Mathew and Mate Riley, were both very knowledgeable and helpful. The inshore fishing excursion was an overall great experience, mostly because of them and how they made the most of what mother nature gave us. We had a lot of fun and will definitely go fishing again with this duo.

Only downside was that the noseeums were brutal. A light wind would have cured that, but we happened to pick the stillest day all week.

Palm State Fishing
Inshore bite was good but had to look for them as the creeks were simply awash in bait. Shrimp were jumping everywhere. If possible pick a non windy day and you'll be up to your eyeballs in speckled trout. Probably would be better fishing in a couple weeks when it cools a bit more and the bait volume declines more, the fish were spoiled for choice.

It was a fantastic time! Captain Chris knows his stuff. We caught 6 sharks. He made my son (10) feel at easy the whole time. We look forward to doing again next year
