We went out on a day where the temperature dropped so we had to bundle up but got put on Spanish mackerel right away. We caught 7 species throughout the day.

Legal Limits Outdoors
Ask for a mixed bag. There is no guarantee, but Capt Luke helped my check a number of species off my goal list and a couple I didn’t know I needed. The bonus red fish schooled under the birds was an awesome experience even for a seasoned fisherman. Great time, and tight lines!

Hot Spots Inshore/Nearshore III
If you think you might get sea sick, take some dramamine. The waves were a bit rough heading out, but not too bad. A couple members of our group almost got sick, but dramamine saved the day.

If you’re used to inland fishing just know that you don’t need to set the hook to fish here, just let the fish hit at your bait until the rod tip bends forward. Also, these fish fight a lot harder than any inland fish so be prepared!

Mr Jamie put us on fish immediately...I took my 3 sons hoping to have some action. He got my 10 year old 2 reds over 30 inches and more speckled trout than we could keep. We limited out on the trout and all of us got nice reds fish. We did this trip 2 times. It's great for vacation time...after a day at the beach you go out for an amazing night time experience. Highly recommen you try the night trip.

The weather was a little chilly and foggy but it didn’t stop the fun or the fishing! Definitely recommend a jacket for the boat ride if the temp is in the 70s as it was warm on shore but I didn’t think about the wind from the water and the boat ride.

For the conditions the fishing was good. We went into this trip with low expectations but our captain did great putting us on fish. When I come back I will probably wait until April when the water temp is a little bit warmer.

Winter trips - keep in mind you can still get a sunburn even when it’s cold. It’s at least 15 degrees colder on the water than on shore, so be sure to dress accordingly- especially for wind!
