Allow lots of extra travel time if you're driving the expressways around Atlanta. Dress for the weather, it's colder out on the lake in the fall. Sunglasses are a must, the water gets very sparkly.

The heat and water temperature have an affect on fishing. The warmer the water, the deeper the water you need to fish. Early morning/ evening are best unless you have a guide with hot spots to get you on the fish. Bring water, snacks, and good attitudes to achieve best results.

Bundle up warm and bring snacks if you get hungry. You’ll need a cooler with ice if you want to keep your fish. You can get your fishing license the night before online for only $5. Super easy process and well worth the experience. Expect to go a little later (7:30 AM) because the sun is rising later this time of year.
