Fresh Grapevine Lake Fishing Reports

12/27/24 I had Keith, Richard, Ro and Mr. Neal out for some white bass and hybrids. Day started out very foggy and chilly but heated up as the day progressed. Fishing was good early as well until the wind picked up. Ended up with 25 big white bass and 3 keeper hybrids.

Today, I had Pete junior and senior on the boat. We were originally scheduled to go yesterday, but we decided to go today instead. It was 31 degrees when I got on the boat, but I think we made a good choice as it warmed up quickly. I had tried a new spot last weekend and told them I wanted to head out there to that deeper water. The bite was steady all morning, and we finished the day with 49 fish in the cooler and 6 bent hooks. We had number 50 up to the boat just before our time was up, but senior let him off the hook. I was determined to finish out the limit, but these guys had enough fun for the day and didn't want to keep me out late. It started out all blues, and by the end of the trip, we were catching mostly channels.

We have been catching good numbers of blue cats and channel cats on all of our trips. We dealt with some unpredictable weather this week, but it didn't slow us down.

When you are on them, you are on them.

Mom brought her son and 3 of his football buddies out for his birthday and had a great time! All of the boys can fish, and that helps a bunch when the fishing is tough. They stuck it out and were rewarded with 32 White Bass, 1 catfish, and 1 Crappie. The water has cooled a bunch, but it didn't seem to affect the fish all that much.

Lake Grapevine is consistently putting limits of fish in the box for our client, and these are really quality fish! It is a lot of fun catching these tasty fighters on light tackle. With the jigging bite being so good, we can easily catch limits of fish. Come enjoy the wonderfully cool fall weather on this little jewel of a lake!
