Fresh Indian River Lagoon Fishing Reports

Black drum, sheepshead, redfish, snook all have been biting well. Bite should only get better in the coming weeks!

Rj, Grayson and Tyler come down and fish with me multiple times a year and never disappoint. This time the wanted to take a near shore trip and the these boys killed putting over 30 fish in the boat, a nice mix bag of lane snapper, key West grunts, triggerfish, black sea bass, mangrove snapper and a stud red grouper. Today was one of those days were every drop would bring up a fish. We through back just as many fish as we kept.

Duff at the helm with a full boat. He found a bunch of fish we haven’t seen in any quantity in several years. Big black seabass.He stayed on the drop for over an hour,putting fish on ice the entire time. Made s short move and the bite continued,not as fast as earlier,but still pretty good. The nearshore Bite has been a good one! A mix of Spanish mackerel on the large size pushing 30 inches. sheep's head and mangrove snappers. customers enjoyed nonstop action. The late-fall bite around Port Canaveral is firing. Tripletail have been stacked on the buoys and any floating structure you can find, with plenty of quality fish and killer sight-fishing windows on the slick-calm days. Redfish action has stayed strong, from slot fish tucked inside to big bulls blowing up along the channel edges and nearshore pockets when the weather lines up. Snook are still chewing way better than they should be this time of year, especially on those hard outgoing tides. And yes—there are still a few tarpon hanging around. Smaller fish inside, and every now and then a beach cruiser shows up to surprise you on a warm, calm day. But the real excitement is what’s coming: December means BLACK DRUM season. Big, moving schools will start sliding into the river and onto the flats, creating some of the best winter sight-fishing of the year. When you find those waves of drum, it’s game on. Overall? The fishing is wide open, and December is shaping up to be straight-up electric.

Another decent trip with mostly stringerfish . Lanes and triggers.a lone grouper hit the ice. As usual we weren’t able get the hookups on the bigger fish on ice. These big fish are tough to bring to the boat. Duff has been having consistent catches. Get in on the decent bite while it lasts.
