Kenai Coldwater Fishing
We sailed and fished with Captain Bub and Deckhand Peyton. They were both were extremely helpful and great to fish with. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to fish in Seward.

Blue Ice Alaska Charters – Yanichka
Fishing was great. Sea was a little rough, and we couldn't reach prime Halibut spots, but we caught a nice variety of fish as well as a few Halibut.

Peninsula Sportfishing – Kenai and Kasilof
Fishing always depends on … the fish! We did 2 days - first day was decent weather - but just so-so fishing. Second day was 54F, raining, with chop and 2 foot swell - and GREAT fishing! Enjoy the experience!

Be prepared for every weather contingency. We get all four seasons in a single day sometimes, and it can get harsh out on the water a couple hours from the spit.

Big Butt Charters – Captain Chuck
It's a great trip, but don't expect huge halibut. I've always heard about big halibut in AK, like 50 lbs to 200 lbs. So I thought catching a halibut like that was a good possibility. However, I think that's very unlikely these days fishing out of Seward.

This was a great mixed bag trip. Only two things that could have been better and both of them were something that could not be controlled. The weather with a little rain and size of the fish, they can always be larger.

Not every day has perfect weather, but when the conditions are right this outfit will try for larger sized fish. This is often talked about but rarely delivered. Great day on the water, fun conversations and a boat limiting on halibut. Can’t ask for much more.

Don’t expect to pull up a barn door here. I suppose it can happen, but unlikely. The state halibut limits of one under 27” and one other over that. That makes it difficult to decide whether to keep a sizable fish or throw it back in hopes of catching a larger one, since one is all you get.
