It was my first time deep sea fishing, so take my advice with a grain of salt. Other than heading out early in the morning, Hoku mentioned that the Mahi bloodline bait was really effective at attracting the fish.

Phantom Sportfishing
This was a wonderful trip and a great overall experience for first time sea fishing goers. The weather was on our side, so I would recommend insuring decent weather for your respective trip.

It's fishing, go into it with a open mind. Hope for the best but understand you may not catch anything. We fished for about 7 and a half hours without a single bite, but the currents changed and just like that we had one one. Good luck and have a great time!

Fishing was good. Better than July in my opinion, but a great captain and crew make all the difference. Waters were moderate-not to rough, not to calm.

We caught a ton of tuna! We also saw people catch blue marlin. The tuna was quick catching, but the marlin takes lots of patience.

Was tail end of peak season when we went out, but still lots of action on the water ,plenty of schools of skipjack jumping out of water.
If you have made it all the way to kona Hawaii is 100% worth going out and trying your luck, a memorable moment and amazing experience
