Here's a great story that finally came full circle this past week. Gene from California found me and booked this trip probably 6-7 months ago. We checked in frequently as Gene was excited to chase some big Erie smallies. Gene is a veteran of fishing world-class fisheries out there, like Clear Lake. I, too, was very excited to show him what we have to offer here on Lake Erie. Ironically, my friend Danny was also flying in from the West earlier last week and coincidentally had a conversation with Gene while wearing his Phoenix Boats hat on the plane. Funny enough, Gene said he was fishing Lake Erie with a guide, and Danny said, "Are you fishing with Destin DeMarion?" To which Gene said, "Yes!" Such a small world. I was having some issues with a key accessory on my boat and unsure if I was going to have it fixed in time (it is fixed now). Thankfully, my good friend and Duke of Hamburg, Jeff, did not have a trip that day and let me borrow his boat to get Gene and his buddy Kerry out. Huge shoutout to Jeff! We had an amazing time out there with beautiful (albeit rare) calm conditions and, thankfully, some cooperative Lake Erie smallmouth. We still have a few dates available this September and in the prime fall season for bass, walleye, lake trout, and perch. We'd love to share our wonderful fishery with you! -Captain Destin DeMarion

My season is nearing the end but the fishing has still been great

With 2 weeks until the big boat is dry docked, and we start running the smaller boat foshing is still at a all time high. Limits of walleye are beimg produced at a high rate.

The walleye fishing continues to be on fire in the Geneva State Park area. We been limiting out every trip with fish between 20-24" along with some real hogs mixed in. Come up and get in on the action before it's too late.

Rampage Fishing

Trolling in smoother water would be better, but multiple weather reports were not accurate. Was supposed to be 0.1 meter waves, which I believe is 4 inches. Lake Erie is shallow and kicks up quick. Captain did his best. Ate some walleye when I got home.

Absolutely but one thing I will say if later season it can get splotchy we got lucky with the right winds but was being told early may June into July to catch a lot of nice walleye

Its a great spot. That end of the lake at this time time year (had a lot of Walleye). We went out deep for Lake Trout but timed out. Got our limit of walleye. Did catch a sheep head.

Don’t drink the night before, and if the waves are about three footers, be ready for a bumpy ride as soon as the boat stops moving to settle for fishing it becomes very, very uneasy your equilibrium is thrown off a whole bunch, so make sure you have your sea legs.

Perch fishing was a little slow, but that was mainly due to weather conditions being extremely hot with no wind. The lake was flat calm and clear sky making it tough to keep action on the baits.

This was my first trip and I couldn't expect any better from anywhere else. We enjoyed a delicious meal at Smoke on the Water before our trip, then had a few drinks at the Moose club while taking in breathtaking views of the lake from the deck. Conneaut has more to offer than just a dock!
