This would be a great trip for first time anglers in Destin, especially when catching Spanish Mackerel. It was a nice day on the bait, easy to tell when fish are on, and a good fight but quick. Great for kids or novice anglers that want a great day on the water that ends in a tasty meal for the dinner table. After, there are several options for cook and catch at local restaurants for the freshest meal.

Destin Inshore Charters
I highly enjoyed our fishing trip in beginning of April but I was a little disappointed that we were unable to go out in the gulf due to the water being too rough thus the 4 star rating. Sounds like that is common in Destin around this time of year.

I am by no means a fishing expert but from what Capt. Tanner told us, the weather was still a little cool for Spanish Macarel and other fish to be super active. We caught a good amount of Bonita though and they were fun to real in.

Capt Keller was incredibly kind and patient, answering the non stop influx of questions from excited kids. He was an expert at finding fish — Spanish Mackerel, Redfish, Flounder, and two large trout (4 and 5 lbs). We also caught a stingray. My 8 yr old wanted to go back out again for the rest of the day! A highlight of our trip for the whole family.
