Oregon Inlet Fishing Reports

Remember it’s not called catching, it’s called fishing and just enjoy the experience.

This was our first time fishing in Manteo, we caught a quantity of small fish that will be perfect for dinner, which was our goal. We also took and hour to go for another type after we had the quantity that we were looking for. It was a great experience, a little different than we expected, but a good time was had by all. We know it is early in the season so we did anticipate to have less options as far as what was biting.

We were hoping to catch a bit more fish, but the weather was maybe a bit too perfect with no current whatsoever. Still able to bring in speckled trout, gray trout, flounder, red drum and had a couple of blues get away.

Big game fish are 40 miles out so plan an all day charter. Inshore fishing is fast and furious and fish are smaller. Fun nonetheless!

If you are a serious fisher I would not recommend this time of the year. I would wait until May or November time frame when there is a greater vary of fish,

Bring sunscreen and plenty of water. Fish are biting so expect to be out in the sun.

Ribbon fish are predators and scare other fish away…but great eating so that is a bonus.

Plenty of charter options. Tiki bar was great. Filet guys were fast. Ships store was great. Friendly folks all around.

Relax! It’s fun even if you’re not hauling in as many as you think you are, and be prepared to use a lot of arm strength to reel in even small fish! Ha!

It's fishing, not catching. You never know how it's going to go. Our 1st time out in OB. Crew was fantastic.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Captain Jeremy answered right away and was very professional.

It would be a mistake to overlook this experience. The pricing is better than expected, and The experience of a lifetime could be passed up. This Captain covers all angles and very prepared for the unforeseen.

Sunscreen, and a place to bring home plenty of fish, and motion sickness pills.

Great trip with lots of fish. If waters rough take Dramamine or pray to the bucket gods

We had a great time with Captain Randy and caught 50- 60 fish in three hours time. I would recommend fishing in Wanchese.

Easy and quick to get to plenty different spots for lots of different kinds of fishing.

A little choppy but if you have a good captain, you’ll find the right trolling area.

I would recommend it but know that the fish that most are wanting to catch may be difficult
